I was chosen to paint a banner that would be hung downtown on the light posts. I chose to paint a blue and green knitted mitten with a red and yellow star in the middle representing st. louis. I then painted "Middle of the Mitten" at the top in mint green paint. Honestly, the hardest part of this banner was making the mitten look the way it did. It was hard to use paint to create a knitted look on the mitten. Afterwards, I painted the background bright yellow. I think it looks like a little child's coloring page, however, I still like it.
I learned that even though I might think I have made a mistake in the color palette, it will still work out in the end. I see my banner when I drive downtown and I am glad I chose the colors I did. My banner is bright and sticks out among the other banners, I think. I love the way it turned out.
